Following reports that English Premier League side Leicester City have expressed interest in securing the signature of Black Stars defender Rashid Sumaila, Al Qadsia fans have taken to social media pleading with the defender not to leave.

Sumaila, 22, has been in top form for the Kuwaiti giants guiding them to the top of the table after thirteen matches.

The former Asante Kotoko and Abusua Dwarfs defender was reported to have impressed scouts from the EPL leaders making a move to the world’s most popular league very imminent.

But fans of the Kuwaiti league leaders have pleaded with the Ghanaian defender not to leave the club.

Some of the fans contend that he has been the rock in their defense and his absence will be disastrous for them.

One of the numerous fans, Saudoy, who pleaded with Rashid to stay at the club wrote the following in a facebook chat:

“Rashid I have been a Qadsia fan for fifteen years now. I have never seen a defender so good like you. But I don’t know why big clubs don’t care about players like you.”

“We will pray behind you. Rashid please stay. I will like to meet Essien and Dede,” he added.

Sumaila has been a idol for the fans as he was presented with a sculpture of himself by a Qadsia fan a few months ago.
