Ghana’s only Para-Cycling champion, Alem Mumuni left Accra on Monday for Switzerland ahead of a 10-day camping for the Paralympics Games in Rio 2016.
The camping session is being put together by the International Cycling Union (UCI) in Geneva this month.
Alem, who is the reigning African C2 Para cycling champion in an interview with Starr Sports, believes the privilege will see him win more laurels for Ghana.
“They selected a few athletes around the world [and] I am the only one in Africa. The camping training in Switzerland and coaching course will see us prepare for Paralympics Games in Rio,” he told Starr Sports.
The 2016 Paralympics Games will come off from 7-18 September where an expected 4,350 athletes from 178 countries will be participating.
