Volta Barracks gets Badminton Court"

Ho, July 11, GNA - The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Colonel Cyril Necku, (Rtd) on Monday commissioned a badminton court for the 66 Artillery Regiment (Volta Barracks) in Ho, the regional capital. The facility christened, 93Yamoussoukro Badminton Court" was constructed by personnel from the Regiment who participated in the investiture of Mr Alassane Ouattara as President of Cote D'Ivoire. Col. Necku said it is his hope that the facility, which would be opened to the public would further enhance the Regiment's military-civil relationship.

He urged personnel of the Regiment to take advantage of all sporting facilities in the Barracks to keep fit to undertake their service delivery. "This court and the swimming pools can keep you out of the sick bed, make good use of them," he advised. Lieutenant Colonel Seidu Abass, Commanding Officer of the Regiment urged the personnel to develop interest in badminton and other lesser known sports. He reiterated the commitment of the Regiment to ensure very good relationship with the civil society.
