Avellino are close to capture the services of Ghana’s Masahudu Alhassan from Udinese after he failed to earn a starting place with the Zebras.

The 21-year-old guardsman is expected to sign a two-year deal after being promised regular playing time by Massimo Rastelli at the Stadio Partenio in the Italian Serie B.

Alhassan had a wonderful season last term with Serie B side Latina but could not replicate that form when recalled to join Udinese.

Goal Ghana understands that Avellino lead the competition ahead of Perugia and Crotone to land the youngster’s signature.

Alhassan, who has played eight times for Ghana, was part of the four-time African champions’ team that reached the semi-finals in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
