The championship would see over nine African countries compete for laurels
The stage is set at the Hathramani Hall at the Accra sports stadium as over 100 athletes have converged for the Ninth Armwrestling Championship in Ghana.
The championship dubbed “Accra 2018” would see over nine African countries compete for laurels in both the male and female categories at the tournament, that would seek to sell the beauty and culture of Ghana to the rest of Africa and beyond.
Armwrestling fans and athletes, who have throng the Hathramani Hall were being treated to drumming and dancing from the Ghana Supporters Union as athletes gear up for the competition with officials and organizers set for the two day event.
According to the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF), the event would not only be for two days but it would linger in the minds of many for years to come.
“This is going to be more than a tournament, we are well prepared and ready to host a championship that would be the talk of town and in Africa for many years to come.
“We are going to sell the rich culture of Ghana to the world through music and culture, athletes would not only compete but would have enough to enjoy".
