All set for 'La Route de Ho'

Accra, Sept 9, GNA - A heady preparation has been put in place by the Ghana Cycling Association as top Ghanaian cyclists gear up to do battle in the lucrative "La Route de Ho" on Saturday.

Eleven cycling team from the country and two others from neighbouring Togo, will assemble in the Volta regional capital, Ho, for the 60-kilometre race comprising the individual time trial, Team time trial and the criterion.

The race is the second high-profile competition on the calendar of the Ghana Cycling Association (GCA) after the Tour Du Ghana, which, promises to produce some fireworks.

Consequently, the cyclists have stepped up their preparations, particularly to improve on their individual times race. Among the notable cyclists likely to thrill the fans would be Akoto, Richard Mawuko, Emmanuel Wayo, Prosper Agbo, Joseph Annan and John Zormelo.

Cyclists from the Greater Accra region will be sent to Ho, a day before the show commences while those from the regions would have their transportation expenses refunded to them.

Traditional sponsors, the French Embassy, plus two other familiar ones, Cowbell and BIC will sponsor the event.
