Veteran football administrator, Alhaji Karim Grunsah has predicted that Kotoko and Ashgold will be evicted in the early stages of the 2021 Africa inter-club competitions as they did in the previous edition.
Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold were selected by the Ghana Football Association to represent the country in next year’s Africa's inter-club competitions per the rules of the association after the 2019/20 football season was cancelled.
Kotoko and Ashgold were chosen following their triumphs in the Normalization Committee Special Competitions Tier 1 and Tier 2 in 2019.
Reacting to the latest decision from the GFA in an interview with Kumasi FM, Alhaji Grunsah who is the bankroller of King Faisal F.C said no one will prevent the aforementioned clubs from going to Africa as they are just going to add up to numbers.
“Allow them to go and disgrace themselves. They represented the country during the era of the Normalization committee but brought nothing better but shame.”
“No one can stop them from participating once they have their money but they should be mindful especially with their gate proceeds, some management members capitalize on that to dupe the club.”
“Nonetheless, we cannot waste our slot hence they can keep on trying. It may be better for them someday,” Alhaji Grunsah concluded.
Ashgold and Asante Kotoko couldn't progress to the group stages of the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup after being booted out in the preliminary stages last season.
