Former Hearts of Oak captain Amankwah Mireku has criticized Salifu Ibrahim along with the current crop of players, accusing them of prioritizing lavish lifestyles over playing their hearts out for the club.

Amankwa Mireku's resentment towards the players follows the club's poor form, having lost five out of their last six games.

He asserted that players join the club to enrich themselves without showing commitment when they don the jersey, citing midfielder Ibrahim as an example.

"Players join Hearts of Oak and lose focus because they want to make money and live unnecessary lifestyles. Salifu Ibrahim is a typical example, was this his performance when he first joined the club? He no longer plays with passion or zeal," he told Akoma FM.

"This is because he has lost sight of why he came to Hearts of Oak and is now enjoying it. Now he's making money at Hearts of Oak," he added.

He also accused the players of engaging in immoral activities instead of being grounded and focusing on football.

"Instead of acknowledging the difficulty of playing for Hearts of Oak and putting forth extra effort, the players are just doing it anyhow. They manage to purchase some small cars, line up the girls, and that's it. They're just joking in the club," Mireku continued.

"They need to put in a lot of effort and set aside their opulent lifestyle."

Hearts of Oak are currently just 4 points above the relegation zone with six matches left to end the season.

They occupy 12th position with 35 points after 28 games. Their last six games include matches against Berekum Chelsea, Aduana Stars, Asante Kotoko, Nations FC, Great Olympics, and Bechem United.
