Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri reckons utility man Daniel Amartey would need more time to own the central midfield position.
This season, the Ghanaian, who can also play in defence, has been the Foxes' preferred choice in central midfield following the departure of N'Golo Kante to Chelsea.
The 21-year-old has made six Premier League and two Champions League appearances so far.
"I think Daniel improves a lot," Ranieri said.
"I am very happy with him. [He is] very good because he played so many matches on the flank in his previous team and sometimes in the middle as centre-back or central midfielder.
“Always, I believe his best position is as a central midfielder.
"He is only 21 years old. It is not easy to take this position."
Amartey joined Leicester from Danish side FC Kobenhavn in January and played five times in the English topflight as Ranieri's charges won the league for the first time ever.
He previously played for Djurgadens in Sweden and Inter Allies in Ghana.
