Daniel Amartey played full throttle for Leicester City as they breezed past Fleetwood Town 2-0 at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Ghanaian international marshalled the defence of the foxes as they secured a crucial win to progress to the next round of the competition.
Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho broke the deadlock for the Foxes on the 43rd minute mark when he was beautifully teed up by Islam Slimani as he struck the ball past Fleetwood goalkeeper, Chris Neal.
Iheanacho’s second goal for the Foxes was initially disallowed but the goal was awarded after the use of VAR, and he became the first player to score a goal by VAR in England.
