Ghanaian striker Patrick Amoah’s dreams of playing in the Dutch top-flight league next season have been dashed as his Fortuna Sittard side have failed to secure a promotion ticket.
Sittard qualified for the promotion play-offs but could not progress to the semi-finals as De Graafschap bundled them out by thrashing them 4-1 on Monday night.
“We tried to qualify but things didn’t go as we wanted and we got kicked out at the quarter-finals,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
Amoah, 27, joined Sittard before the start of the season from Belgian side White Star Brussels and scored four times in 25 league appearances for them.
