GENEVA, (Reuters) - Ghanaian striker Charles Amoah left St Gallen of Switzerland for Austrian champions Sturm Graz for an Austrian League transfer record of 6.0 million Swiss francs on Wednesday.
Amoah, 26, signed a four and a-half year deal with the Austrian club but is not eligible to play for them when the Champions League resumes next month as he appeared for St Gallen in the UEFA Cup earlier this season.
However, his partnership with Ivica Vastic in the front line is likely to give Sturm Graz the most the lethal strike pairing in the Austrian League.
Amoah was top scorer in the Swiss League last season with 25 goals in 34 matches, a year after being top scorer in the Swiss Second Division with FC Wil.
