Local Black Stars goalkeeper, Isaac Amoako, is delighted with Coach Maxwell Konadu’s training methods ahead of Ghana’s participation in the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU) tournament and confident the technical handler will deliver.

The safest pair of hands of Asante Kotoko, who played under Konadu in the 2011/12 season for the Porcupine Warriors, says he is at even with his coach’s training schemes and competition at camp will help bring the best out of the players.

“I am enjoying with the training the coach (Maxwell Konadu) is taking us through,” Amoako said.

“The coach knows we are in action for our teams in the Ghana Premier League so we need not to push us to put in a lot of movements, speed and strength.”

“Everybody is serious at training and there is healthy competition as well. We need a lot of camping to because the players here are from different clubs and it will take time before we will know ourselves well.”

The tournament which is meant only for home-based players will see the Black Stars drawn in Group A to face Sierra Leone, Benin and Burkina Faso.

Title holders Togo will play Niger, Senegal and Gabon in Group B. The winners of each group will progress to the final while the second-placed team in each group will vie for the third position.

Senegal, Sierra Leone and Gabon will take part in the tournament as guests.
