Assistant coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Micheal Osei has said he is surprised at the impressive of club captain Amos Frimpong.
The vice trainer for the Reds openly admitted to the outstanding form of his captain in the offseason so far as they continue to gel ahead of the season.
Kumasi Asante has since scored eight goals in the last two matches and Amos has accounted for three of those goals.
Known in the football family as “Micky Osei”, the assistant trainer for the 24 times league Champions dared the entire squad to transfer their pre-season form to the league and singled out Amos Frimpong as the surprise package.
Coach Osei cited the need for such performance in order to get back to their commanding self.
“Performances like this is for the very existence of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
“It is good for the morale and confidence of the players as a club.
If there is one player who has surprised me the most it is my club captain Amos Frimpong. He has surprised me the most as a player.”
Frimpong landed himself the Man-of -the-Match in a 3-1 romping of Berekum Chelsea in the GHALCA First Trust G6 invitational tournament at the Essipong sports stadium on Friday afternoon.
The club’s captain got a brace to his name in that heavy win to add to this composed finish against FK Jogadino in the anniversary match.
