Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew has been voted Olympique Marseille's Player of the Season after a poll of fellow players.
The 21-year-old son of Ghana legend Abedi Ayew Pele took 51 percent of the votes to beat goalkeeper Steed Mandanda and Mattheu Valbuena to the award, which was presented to him in the presence by Abedi.
Ayew has scored 11 goals this season in 36 games for Marseille, including a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Nice.
He also scored an additional two in the French Cup.
It is a remarkable turnaround for the player, who spent last season on loan at Arles Avignon because he was deemed surplus to requirements by coach Didier Deschamps.
Ayew said he would have preferred to have won the French League title, which Marseille lost, but is still delighted with the honour.
