Andre Ayew will captain Ghana in next week’s international friendlies against Senegal and Mali in France.
The Olympique Marseille star will deputize in the absence of the substantive captain Asamoah Gyan, who has been excused from featuring in the two matches after contracting an infection.
Andre, 25, is not new to this after he was handed the armband to lead the Black Stars on three occasions at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana’s first match will be against Senegal on 28 March in Paris and then face Mali three days later in Le Havre.
