Reading fullback Andy Yiadom has praised the team's fighting spirit in Monday's draw with West Brom.

The result all but relieved their fierce relegation battle in the English Championship.

The 0-0 draw at Madejski Stadium has placed The Royals on 46 points, two places and six points above the drop zone.

With a far superior goal difference to their competitors and just two more matches to go, it will take an incredibly dramatic set of results in the last rounds of matches to see Reading slump to the third tier.

"It was a bit of a frustrating game," Yiadom was reported to have said to his club's official website.

"We had a few chances, it was a bit stop-start unfortunately with two injuries for us at the start of the game.

"But we kept a clean sheet, it was 0-0 and a valuable point. They weren't really celebrations at the end, but we gathered that Rotherham lost at the end, which did mean a lot.

"We'll take that, but we're still being professional and we've got to go to Middlesbrough and get a result."

After taking on Middlesbrough on Saturday, The Royals will wrap up the season against Birmingham City.

"It wasn't easy [against West Brom], they have some quality players and they can still produce a bit of magic from anything. We needed to stay focused, that's what we did and we got a clean sheet and a point.

"We stuck to our guns, we did what we could and we kept a clean sheet, so the point was a valuable one.

"There have been ups and downs this year but we've still got two games left, we've got to be as professional as we can and we still want to climb up the table, getting as many points as we can."

Impressively, Yiadom has played 43 of Reading's 44 league games so far.

He is expected to be rewarded with a place in Ghana's final squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations where the Black Stars have been drawn against Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau in Group F.
