Antoine Semenyo has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for February, capping an impressive first full month at Manchester City following his January move from AFC Bournemouth.

The award comes after Semenyo scored three goals and provided one assist in five Premier League appearances in February, finding the net against Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, and Leeds United.

“This is a brilliant moment for me. To win the Premier League Player of the Month award so soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget. My focus now is on continuing to improve and helping City to achieve the best possible results. We have so much to play for and I am really excited about this final period of the season,” Semenyo said on Man City’s official website.

Semenyo has hit the ground running at Manchester City, turning heads with his versatility. Comfortable on either wing, leading the line as a striker, or dropping into midfield, he has shown an ability to influence games from multiple positions.

By claiming the Player of the Month award, Semenyo becomes the first City player aside from Erling Haaland to receive the honour since Raheem Sterling in December 2021.

The Ghanaian also joins an elite group of compatriots to win the award, following in the footsteps of Tony Yeboah, who won it twice for Leeds United in 1995, and André Ayew, who earned the prize with Swansea City in August 2015.

His February performances stood out enough to see him top a competitive six-man shortlist that included Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres, City teammate Nico O’Reilly, Brentford’s Dango Ouattara, Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko, and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.
