Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah believes André Ayew’s style of play will suit English football, after the 25-year-old winger joined Swansea City last month from Ligue 1 side Marseille.
Appiah played alongside Ayew with the Black Stars between 2008 and 2010 before the former Juventus midfielder quit active football due to injuries.
“Andre’s style of play will suit the premiership,” Appiah told Starr FM.
“Swansea play good football and André likes playing good football. He runs a lot as well, so I think he is going to do well at Liberty Stadium,” he said.
Ayew played 61 minutes in his debut game for the Welsh-based team in their preseason match against Bayern Monchengladbach in Germany.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with the winger displaying an impressive performance especially during the first half.
He could make his Premier League debut against Chelsea on August 8.
