Crystal Palace striker Kwesi Appiah has been handed his first Ghana start as the Black Stars gear up to face Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals Sunday.
Coach Avram Grant has benched Lorient forward Jordan Ayew, having wasted several chances during the group games.
The London-born Ghanaian made his Ghana debut in the final group match against South Africa and will partner Al Ain striker Asamoah Gyan up front.
John Boye replaces Daniel Amartey who picked up injury in the final group game and will be guarding the back with Jonathan Mensah, Baba Rahman and Harrison Afful.
Mubarak Wakaso, Afriyie Acquah, Andre Ayew and Christian Atsu have maintained their positions in midfield and on the flanks.
