Appiah drops five players for Liberia friendly

Belgium-based Daniel Opare, Adam Kwarasey and Harrison Afful are among five players dropped for Ghana's friendly against Liberia on Tuesday, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.

CAF Champions League leading scorer Emmanuel Clottey and centre-back Isaac Vorsah have also been excluded from the 18-man squad that will leave Accra on Monday.

Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has been left out due to a shoulder injury.

Left-back Abdul Razak Nuhu and strikers Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and Abdul Majeed Waris-who failed to make the team that played Malawi in the Nations Cup qualifier-have been named in Kwesi Appiah's squad.

Centre-backs Jerry Akaminko and Rashid Sumaila have been included.

Debutant Isaac Coffie is expected to make his Ghana debut against the Lone Stars in Monrovia.

The match is being played as part of Liberia's Independence celebrations.

Ghana beat Malawi 2-0 last Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium in a final 2013 Africa Cup of Nations first leg qualifier.
