Defender Jerry Akaminko says he is still at a loss that former Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah has been relieved of his duty, stressing that Appiah was a fine gentleman.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Friday announced that they agreed to mutually part ways with the Black Stars coach an action that has sparked a considerable amount of debate among several football circles locally and internationally.

“It’s like a dream to me because I was looking forward to meeting him in the national team again once I recover and start playing actively for my Club,” Akaminko mentioned.

“I can’t believe he is ‘gone’. He is one coach who brought the best in me when it came to the national team and I respect him for that. He is like a senior brother to all of us as he kept giving us advice on how best we can better our careers as footballers, both for country and Club.”

As it stands now, it’s relatively unknown whom James Kwesi Appiah’s successor will be, though many have suggested that Milovan Rajevac, who is the country, could land the job.
