Richard ‘Olele’ Kingson has stated that he had great time with the Black Stars of Ghana, especially during their camping sessions.

Richard Kingson spent about 16 years with the senior male national football team of Ghana, but there were some intermittent breaks in the early stage of his Black Stars career, guarding the post in both the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup campaigns in Germany and South Africa, respectively.

The 37-year-old goalkeeper has indicated that he has missed his days as a Black Stars player, recounting some unforgettable moments he had in the camp of the Black Stars.

“I recall, prior to any Black stars game, we will be teasing one another and cracking jokes, whiles in camp. The kind of jokes we resort to in the dressing room even makes you excited as a player,” he told Kasapa FM.

“John Paintsil was the one who was noted for cracking jokes, whiles Asamoah Gyan was head of ‘toli’ (fiction) and these created much amusement in camp.

Richard Kingson is currently playing for his boyhood club, Gt. Olympics who are battling relegation in the ongoing First Capital Plus Premier League.
