Former Black Stars striker, Nii Odartey Lamptey has expressed his belief that Swansea City loanee, Jordan Ayew is the right person to replace Asamoah Gyan.
The 26-year-old has not been in the national colours since 2017 in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Congo in Kumasi.
Despite his explosive performance at Crystal Palace, Jordan was excluded from Kwesi Appiah’s squad for the Kenya clash that Ghana lost by 1:0 and ahead of the third round of qualifiers against Sierra Leone, he was again omitted for the 23 man squad Kwesi Appiah invited.
“Jordan Ayew will be the rightful successor to Asamoah Gyan,” he said.
“He has the capacity to replicate what Asamoah has done and he’s young enough to grow in time.
“He can deliver the goal,” he added.
