Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is likely to return to training next week after suffering an injury whiles playing for his club on Saturday.
Gyan was stretched off in the 17th minute during Al Ahli’s league game with Al Jazira in the UAE.
There were concerns he could spend a lengthy time on the sidelines, one that could keep him out of AFCON 2017.
“It is true Gyan had to leave the pitch on Saturday, it was just a precautionary measure,” Said Samuel Anim, business manager of Gyan
“It is not as serious as people are describing it, so there is no cause for alarm, I have spoken with him, and he is fine.
“He is likely to return to training in the coming days.”
Gyan since joining Al Ahli on loan from Chinese side Shangai SIPG has been on blistering form scoring week in week out.
