Asamoah Gyan scores on NorthEast United debut

Black Stars general captain, Asamoah Gyan scored his first goal for his new club NorthEast United against Indian national football team, Blue Tigers in a 1-1 draw today, October 9, 2019, at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.

The match was held to prepare the Indian national side ahead of its FIFA World Cup qualifier against Bangladesh next week. Captain Sunil Chhetri drew the first blood in the 34th minute, but NorthEast United equalised ten minutes later through newly signed Asamoah Gyan.

Gyan who was handed a start on his debut was withdrawn in 68th minute.

NorthEast United are preparing for the start of the Indian National League whilst the Indian National Team are also preparing for the upcoming World Cup qualifier game against Bangladesh on October 15.
