Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan HAS NOT been ruled out for nine weeks following a knee injury and could return to action for his UAE side Al Ain within two weeks, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
Several Ghanaian news outfits reported on Tuesday that the Ghana captain has been ruled out of action for nine weeks because of the injury he suffered last Friday.
They even went on to suggest that because of the injury he has been ruled out of next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and Togo.
Despite these reports sources close to the player have told Ghana’s leading football news website www.ghanasoccernet.com that he could be fit within two weeks.
Gyan will miss Al Ain’s trip to Dubai to face Emirates in the mouth-watering league fixture.
But Al Ain’s ace marksman Gyan, who will miss the League game against Emirates on Wednesday night, will be racing against time to be fit for the match against defending Arabian Gulf League champions Al Ahli, next Monday in the tough match.
This means his recover is only scheduled to be within the next 10 days contrary to what has been reported by the Ghanaian media.
Gyan, who only returned from Ghana’s African Cup of Nations qualifier and injured himself after he came on in the second half against Al Dhafrah last Friday.
