Asante Kotoko completes the signing of Nigerian winger Wisdom Fernando - Reports

Asante Kotoko have reportedly signed Nigerian winger Wisdom Fernando from Nigerian side Wisdom Fernando.

A report by GHANASoccernet suggests that the Porcupines completed the signing on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

The report further indicates that Fernando joined the Reds on a free transfer after his contract with Akwa United expired.

The forward spent the 2023/2024 season on loan at Sporting Lagos but could not earn a permanent mover at the club after the sport spell.

Fernando is said to be a replacement for Bernard Somuah who has departed Kotoko to La Liga side, Celta Vigo on loan.

Wisdom Fernando spent seven seasons in the Nigerian top-flight league, scoring seven goals and providing assists in 76 appearances.

He has become Kotoko's fifth foreign player signed in the just-ended Ghanaian transfer window, joining Sudanese duo Esmat Abdulhamid and AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub, Congolese defender Samba O’Neil and Guinean goalkeeper Mohamed Camara.
