Asante Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey denies ‘juju’ claims

Asante Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey has flatly denied ever using juju or any form of spiritual assistance in his career and says reports of him being the ‘juju’ carrier for Kotoko in their league match against Aduana Stars are inaccurate.

Aduana Stars, Asante Kotoko and particularly Nettey attractive widespread condemnation for their actions in a league match between the two clubs at Dormaa.

The Game Week 11 fixture of the suspended 2019-2020 season which took place on Wednesday February 19 saw both teams start the game with 10 players after initially engaging in shenanigans.

Commentary in the media space mentioned Christopher Nettey as being at the center of all this for Kotoko as he was used as a conduit to deposit juju on the pitch.

The player has however denied this claim and clarified the situation.

“The commentator misrepresented the actuality of the matter” Nettey said. “In the second half, they planted an object in our goalpost, so I took it to return it to their goal area. It’s not like Kotoko gave it to me to plant it in their goalpost, that was not the idea” he continued.

“In my career, I have never visited any Mallam, I have never visited any priest to pray for me before, I have never bathed with any substance or used any talisman before” Nettey concluded.
