Asante Kotoko to play DC United
Ghana Premier League side, Asante Kotoko SC, are set to face Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United on October 12, 2024, in the Capital City Africa Cup in Washington, DC.
Asante Kotoko earned the right to play the match against DC United after they beat Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup match back in July.
The match is expected to take place at the state-of-the-art Audi Field in Washington, DC.
The annual ceremonial match, organised by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association, is part of the activities to mark Ghana Week DC 2024, which takes place from October 7-12, 2024.
The football match is expected to be the highlight of the celebration in Washington, DC, to celebrate Ghana’s rich culture.
Kotoko becomes the second Ghanaian Premier League club to play DC United, following Medeama SC, who played DC United in a 2-1 defeat on October 14, 2023.
Asante Kotoko SC will look to make a positive impact on the international stage and showcase Ghanaian football talent.
