This year's Asantehene Gold Challenge Golf Championship tees off at the Kumasi Golf Course from Friday 17 May and two days later.
A spokesman for the Kumasi Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Sunday, said the three-day Scratch competition open to amateur and professional golfers throughout the country, is being sponsored by Ghana Breweries Limited (GBL). He said the competition which is expected to attract over 200 golfers, has handicap 14 and below as the entry requirement.
There would also be a tournament for the youth and a flag raising ceremony, to herald the competition under the auspices of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is also scheduled for the same day. The professionals will engage in a hectic 72-hole event beginning from Wednesday 15 May. Eight prizes would go to the Men's event while six would be presented to the Ladies.
