Top performing Ashantigold SC defender Mubarik Yussif says he is very positive about getting into the senior national team but admits he needs to work harder to make this a reality.

Black Stars Coach C K Akonnor in his last call up invited three home based players to join camp and prepare for the now postponed AFCON 2021 qualifying double header with Sudan.

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah, Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed and AshGold full back Kwadwo Amoako were handed call-ups to the national set up.

Mubarik who was tipped to make the cut says he is not disappointed at missing out and reveals seeing three local players in the list spurs him on to work harder.

“I wasn’t disappointed at all. Seeing three local players in the squad inspires me to to work even harder.

” I believe in hardwork. I’m confident my time will come.” He told Zuria FM Hausa Sports.

“I have been working very hard. The competition in the team is not easy. I will keep working hard”

Mubarik also touched on changes in the Ashantigold technical team.

“I’m someone who believe in hardwork. I don’t have many friends. I prefer to do my talking on the pitch. So whenever there is a change in coaches, I try to prove my self in the pitch. That is what keeps me going”
