Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold Football Club Cudjoe Fianoo believes that the miners are in pole position to win the league title following their performance in the ongoing campaign.
The miners still remain the only unbeaten side in the competition so far this season after nine games.
Bashir Hayford's side inflicted a 1-0 defeat on Accra Hearts of Oak at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium on Sunday leaving the Phobians with their second defeat of the season thus moving to second on the league table.
“We want to make it to Africa but in so doing we still have our eyes on the title,” Mr Fianoo told XYZ Sports in an interview.
“It’s early days yet but with the form in which we are now, there is no doubt we have what it takes to go all the way and win the title,” he added.
“Kotoko and Hearts are still in the running but we are still definitely contenders for the title this season”.
The Miners next game is against regional rivals New Edubiase United at the Nana Gyamfi Park on Sunday.
