Ashanti Gold striker Daniel Gozar has set sights on becoming the next Ghana Premier League top scorer when the 2017-18 season kicks off.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Miners on loan from Dreams FC last season, scored six goals in 13 appearances to help the former champions beat the drop on final day.
He has extended his stay for another full season.
“As a striker, my job is to bang in the goals [in every game] so my aim is to win the top scorer award in the upcoming season," Gozar told Footballmadeinghana.
"Last season, my striking partner Hans Kwoffie won it and I am confident I can emulate that achievement also with hard work and determination,” he added.
Aside personal glory, Gozar is hoping that Ashanti Gold will win the league title and the FA Cup for the first time in two decades.
“I want to also help my club to win the league and the FA Cup titles. These cups are very important to us. Last season, it was not too bad for us since we survived relegation scares but I believe we can win trophies this season,” he said.
Goal understands that Ashanti Gold have gone through a complete take over as Dr. Kwaku Frimpong and his business partners have bought it from Anglo Gold Ashanti few months after the company cut their subvention to the club.
