AshGold recorded a cricket score line at the Len Clay Sports Stadium when they crashed and humiliated a division one side Shalka 04 8-0 in a preparatory match towards Sunday?s premiership encounter between AshGold and Accra Hearts of Oak.

AshGold dominated play from the blast of the whistle and found the net in the 9th minute through Shaibu Yakubu after Nasir Lamine had intelligently engineered a move and laid a perfect pass for Shaibu to power a bullet for the opener.

Ten minutes later Nasir Lamine, who partnered well with Osei Kuffour and Shaibu Yakubu upfront, surged Kuffour forward for the later to register the second goal. The visitors sensing danger resorted to long balls and managed to hold the slippery attackers of AshGold comprising Shaibu Yakubu, ?General Osei Kuffour, Kofi Deblah and Nasir Lamine.

Shaibu again increased the tally to three when he took a pass from Nasir, dummied the goalie and placed the ball in the yawning net to the applause of the fans. It was one-way traffic for AshGold as the homesters kept bombarding the opponent?s goal area with powerful bullets but woefully missed glorious opportunities with Kofi Deblah being the worst culprit.

Shalka lifted their game and came close to scoring on several occasions but the impregnable defence of AshGold comprising Dan Asamoah, Alfred Arthur, Kofi Amoako and Joe Hendricks made things impossible for the visitors the redeem their ego.

Nasir Lamine registered the 4th goal in the 28th minute when his shot zoomed straight into the net after Adamu Mohammed had been savagely brought down close to the 18yard box.

AshGold replaced the old squad and brought on Isaac Amoako, Gabriel Opoku Ware, Ricky Essuman, Kwaku Sarpong, Matthew Attiogbe, Mark Komade, Thomas Duah, Ofosu Appiah and Adu Gyamfi.

The second team managed to score four more goals courtesy Alfred Arthur, Thomas Duah, Ofosu Appiah and Matthew Attiogbe in the 54th, 70th, 78th and 84th minutes respectively until the game was brought to an end.
