Ashgold begins resurgence with away win over Liberty

Accra, May 17, GNA - Obuasi Ashgantigold made clear their intentions of surviving the premiership when they chalked a lone goal victory over Liberty Professionals in their Week 19 clash at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Sunday.

The win, which incidentally is the Miners fifth of the season was made possible through the efforts of Togolese-import Ellensan Mensah four minutes from recess. After a barren first half characterized by midfield play, the final half was no different either as both teams played as if there was

nothing at stake. The performance of the two sides made a mockery at their technical benches which had their respective heads; George Lamptey for Liberty and David Duncan for Ashgold on their feet throughout the game.
