Ashgold's Technical Director keen on improving performance

Ashgold’s newly appointed technical director, John Christiansen believes his duty is to help identify problems in the team and help the coach correct them in their subsequent matches.

Dr. Kwaku Frimpong, alias champion and Nana Achiken, new owners of the club now believe that it’s time for them to come rescue the team and make it more lucrative.

They believe Ashgold must regain its old status hence the new restructuring of the club, the new technical director has a huge task if indeed the club wants a respectable position after the end of the Ghana premier league. Mr Christiansen has explained his role at Ashgold and how he seeks to execute his motives.

“My relationship with C K Akunnor is fantastic. We both know our responsibilities. As a technical director, I need to help my coach rectify mistakes in every game we play. For instance, against Wa All-Star our first half was better than the second half, which we have discussed as a technical team.

“We are looking at setting up academies in Obuasi and Kumasi. I want to bring out a world class player from Obuasi. We will work very hard so what happened to AshantiGold last year will not happen again,” he told Oyerepa FM

Ashgold faces Hearts Of Oak on Sunday in match day 2 of the Ghana Premier League.
