Ashgold signs Lions' defender

Champions AshantiGold have reached a deal with left-back Hudu Yakubu who is available on a free transfer, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The player and his representative met AshGold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Accra on Thursday to finalize talks.

Yakubu will put pen to paper on Monday in Obuasi when he joins the team for pre-season.

His contract with relegated Heart of Lions expired at the end of the season.

He was linked with Hearts of Oak but the Miners moved fast on the market to hand him an irresistible offer.

AshGold are keen on augmenting their squad for the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League campaign and their CAF Champions assignment.
