AshantiGold Chief Executive Officer Kudjoe Fianoo admits his club will be badly affected with the imminent suspension of the sponsorship agreement for the Ghana Premier League.

First Capital Plus Bank who became headline sponsors of the Ghanaian top flight in 2014 after signing a five-year agreement with the Ghana FA worth $10m have requested for the suspension of the agreement as they undergo restructuring.

Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi in making this revelation last week, however, says his outfit is yet to hold discussions over the request.

If accepted, the 16 Premier League clubs who are major beneficiaries of the sponsorship package will undoubtedly take a massive hit.

And AshGold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo admits his club will not be left out of the knockdown effect if the request of First Capital Plus Bank is accepted.

I have already prepared my budget for the 2015/16 season and the sponsorship from the First Capital Plus League was heavily featured as part of revenue, he said.

It has thrown our budget in total disarray and we must find way to recoup this money.
