The CEO of Ashantigold Kudjo Fianoo is confident the Len Clay Stadium will be put in shape to host the home matches of the Miners in the CAF Champions League.
However, the Ghana FA inspection team has instructed the Miners to begin renovation works on the media center of the Stadium to avert the possibility of moving its Africa games to the Baba Yara Stadium.
Meanwhile, the management of the club is making frantic effort to put the entire 20,000-capacity edifice in shape before the CAF inspection team visits the venue for the commencement of the league next year.
“We are doing our best to get Len Clay ready to host our home matches. It would be a great disservice to the people of Obuasi if we have to move our matches from Obuasi to Kumasi, which happens to be the alternative,” Fianoo told Starr Sports.
Meanwhile, Ashanti Gold’s Board has officially approved a $1 million budget for the club’s preparations for the African Champions League.
