RTU's final game of the season is set against Accra Great Olympics
Real Tamale United's assistant coach, Iddi Manza, has revealed that he did not travel with the team to Dawu for their match against Dreams FC.
The match, part of the outstanding Week 28 fixtures, ended with Dreams FC defeating Real Tamale United by a staggering 8-1.
The assistant coach's absence follows a boycott by Real Tamale United players, who have not received their salaries for the past six months. The decision to boycott the Dreams FC game is not a standalone event; the players have previously threatened to boycott matches in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League for the same reason.
Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, Coach Iddi Manza confirmed his absence from the team's trip to Dawu. "Yes, my name is on the team sheet, but I did not accompany the team. That's all I can say for now," he said.
Real Tamale United has faced numerous challenges both on and off the field, leading to their relegation from the top flight.
