Austria based Ghana youth international Atanga David has predicted an immediate success for the returning Kwesi Appiah when the Black Stars head to Cameroon for the next AFCON.
The Red Bull Salzburg forward leaned on the new lease of life around the national team and the welcoming Ghanaian fans as some of the key factors to lead the Black Stars home.
The Black Stars have not won the continent’s greatest prize in football since 1982 but the return of Kwesi Appiah to the top of the managerial have many believing it is possible.
David Atanga, a Ghanaian footballer based in Austria added his voice to the list of people predicting success for James Kwesi Appiah and the new looking Black Stars.
The skillful forward singled out the broader scope of player selection, the return of the Ghanaian love and above all the hunger for success as enough to see Ghana through it Yaounde come next AFCON.
“With the way the Black Stars played in the first game against Ethiopia in the qualifiers, I think the black Stars can easily win the next nation’s cup.
“There didn’t even play at full strength and yet created so many goal scoring opportunities. The new life in camp will help end the winless run very very soon.
“The spirit of the team is back and the selection criteria has been extended and you could see the new faces in camp.
Who expected these boys to come and perform like they did? Remember many more are still waiting for their chance and that include me of course”, Atanga told Sports crusader exclusively.
The Black Stars opened their 2019 nation’s cup qualifiers with a 5-0 romp over Ethiopia at the Baba Yara Stadium in the first game for Kwesi Appiah on his return to the national team.
