Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan claims his former club Hearts of Oak will be able to pull themselves out of the relegation battle, a day after both sides clashed in the Ghana Premier League which ended in favour of the Kumasi-based team 2-1.

Hearts have endured a poor run of results this season, recording seven wins, eight draws and 10 losses.

“Hearts of Oak are a big club and they know how to meander their way through hard situations. I believe they will come good in the ensuing games,” Duncan told Goal.

The Phobians will face Liberty Professionals by midweek in a crucial away fixture that could seal their fate, with five match days to conclude the campaign.

The Accra giants are second from the bottom with 29 points, sitting eleven points above BA United and a point behind Great Olympics.

With local supporters becoming increasingly despondent about the future of Hearts’ campaign, Duncan believes his former club will finish the season above the red zone.

“I am sure Hearts will come out of relegation, because we have about five games more to go and I believe that my good friend Eddy Ansah will lead the team to escape,” Duncan said.

The Rainbow club will play their five next games against Liberty professionals, Berekum Chelsea, WAFA, Medeama and Bechem United.
