Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey named in CAF shortlist for Player of the Year award

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is the only Ghanaian player included in the nominees for the 2018 African Player of the Year award.

CAF announced a list of 34 players nominated for the prestigious award on Friday morning.

Egypt's Mohamed Salah, holder of the award is in the list.

Sadio Mane, Kalidou Koulibaly, Riyad Mahrez, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amongst others are included in the released.

The number will be pruned before the awards ceremony in Dakar, Senegal in January 2019.
