Atsu marks first Everton start with defeat
Ghana winger Christian Atsu made his full Everton debut in Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at home to Crystal Place in the English Premier League.
Manager Roberto Martinez handed the 2014 FIFA World Cup star a role on the left wing and he did impress.
But his efforts could not help the Toffees from suffering defeat in front of their home as Steve Naismith substituted him on 64 minutes.
Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring in the 9th minute, but Mile Jedinak levelled from the spot on the half hour mark.
Yannick Bolaise made it 3-1 by the 69th minute before Leighton Baines pulled one back with seven minutes to go.
