The Swansea City winger needs to secure enough votes ahead of the other four nominees – Gabon forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Ivory Coast defensive midfielder Yaya Toure, Algerian midfielder Yacine Brahimi, who won the award in 2014, and Senegalese winger Sadio Mane.
The former Marseille man has been in stunning form for Swansea City this season, scoring 6 goals in 13 league appearances this season, including the stunning back-heel he netted against Atsu’s Bournemouth in Saturday’s 2-2 draw.
The 25-year-old Ayew is chasing his second BBC African Footballer of the Year Award after winning the prize in 2011.
Voting is open on the BBC’s website until November 30 and the winner will be announced on December 11.
