Folks, yours truly has been thinking seriously about something very disturbing of late. It is about the pull-him-down syndrome in our part of the world, which clearly is the main bane of Africa. Limiting it to Ghana our motherland, let’s just take Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah for example, what he went through trying to do something, not only for Ghana but the whole of Africa. The rest is history. There are many great people that have been destroyed while trying to help this country grow. It is becoming clearer by the day over a few months now that Hon Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah has become a main target of the nation wreckers. But they will fail because their lies cannot stand the test of time.

Yours truly is surprised about the systematic attempts being made by some persons to destroy Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah at all cost. Looking at what looks like a well-coordinated plan to victimize an innocent man by damaging his reputation for political expediency is shocking.

Truth be told, folks, Hon Afriyie-Ankrah’s current wahala is nothing but an orchestration by some persons to give a dog a bad name and hang it. Yours truly will tell you why, folks.

Can anybody tell yours truly why there were so many negative publications about the so-called bloated Black Stars budget that Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah was supposed to have sent to cabinet? Why, what power did the then minister of youth & sports have in order to twist the arm of President John Mahama’s cabinet to agree to a so-called bloated budget demanding Ghana’s money for the purpose of feeling his pocket? Think about it folks.

Can anybody tell yours truly why the completely false story in the media back home in Ghana that the supporters in Brazil who went to the world cup on account of the state had no place to sleep and this lie was giving a lot of mileage in a section of the Ghanaian media? Folks, didn’t you see the pictures of the beautiful accommodation secured for the supporters with air-conditioned rooms and televisions in every room coupled with swimming pools and buses on standby and the rest of them?

Can anybody tell yours truly why somebody will decide to take pictures of some persons in a certain queue somewhere and send that picture to Ghana and claim that the supporters sent to Brazil by Afriyie-Ankrah were queuing to attend to nature’s call when they know that they were lying through their teeth just to paint one man black?

Can anybody tell yours truly why Ghanaians sent to Brazil to support the Black Stars with public funds would decide to dent the image of the John Mahama government by claiming they were not given food and that they were starving, when the truth is that they were fed very well? Didn’t you also see the video and still pictures of the rich foods they ate throughout their 15 days stay in Brazil on GTV at the Justice Dzamefe Commission, folks?

Can anybody tell yours truly why anybody will decide to go as far as trying to dent the image of a celebrity like Jackie Appiah by deciding to spread the falsehood that she had slept with Hon Afriyie-Ankrah in Brazil? What a wicked attempt to destroy one man’s reputation by all these reckless means? It is clear the falsehoods manufacturers did not care if they ended up destroying the reputation of Jackie Appiah who apart from her celebrity status is also a married woman. Isn’t this shameful?

Can anybody tell yours truly why someone could sit down and plot to scandalize a celebrity like Becca by saying she went having sex all over the place with Black Stars player, Agyeman Badu? Of course, this lie was not mainly targeted at Becca. Like the rest of the lies, it was meant to discredit Hon Afriyie-Ankrah for organizing a bad World Cup tournament for Ghana. That is why there were persistent calls for him being sacked from government by persons who obviously knew next to nothing.

Can somebody tell yours truly why after all the shouts about the then sports minister having stolen all the money at the ministry of youth & sports, his accusers lacked the courage to take up his challenge to go and tell their stories to the Justice Dzamefe Commission? Rather they are still hiding behind the internet and continuing to spew all forms of garbage. Is this how to build a country?

What is even more interesting is that even after these blatant lies have been exposed at the Justice Dzamefe Commission, the pull-Afriyie-Ankrah-down-at-all-cost falsehood purveyors would still not accept that their backside has been exposed and that they must bow their heads in shame. They are still going on and on. What kind of nation-wrecking behaviour is this, folks?

Well, all yours truly will say about this matter today is that no matter how long a lie is sustained, truth will eventually emerge- and the truth is emerging already in this matter of a wicked plot to target Hon Afriyie-Ankrah for destruction.

Let’s call a spade as a spade, folks. All this was meant to destroy the promising political carrier of Hon Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah. But it will backfire as the lies have failed to stand the test of time. If a systemic failure and lack of patriotism by over-pampered Black Stars players cost Ghana so dearly at the Brazil World Cup, let nobody blame Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah for it. It is a collective failure.
