The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rubbished reports that the federation is in talks with Avram Grant over the job of a technical consultant for the Black Stars for the 2014 World Cup insisting the report is a ‘big hoax’.

The GFA slammed the report as false similar to what the same website reported last month that German coach Klaus Toppmoeller was in talks with the Ghanaian federation over the same post which turned out to be false.

The website reported on Monday that the GFA hierarchy is interested in hiring the ex-West Ham and Portsmouth to boost the technical bench of the Black Stars.

It even went ahead to claim that Grant will be handed a six-month contract to act as a Technical Consultant for the Black Stars until after the 2014 World Cup.

But the GFA says it has not contacted Grant and it is not interested in hiring him for any role in Ghana football let alone the highly-priced Black Stars.

“Please quickly disregard this Avram Grant report. It is a big hoax,” the GFA’s Director of Communications Ibrahim Sannie Daara said when asked about the report.

“This new hoax is similar to what the same website reported on German Klaus Toppmoeller some weeks ago which as you all know now was false. “This trend of putting wrong information out to the public before seeking the GFA’s version is getting out of hand.

“The GFA is not interested in Avram Grant, it has not contacted Avram Grant and will not contact Avram Grant for any position in Ghana football.”

Grant coached the Israeli national team from 2002 to 2006. He landed the job as a Chelsea coach thanks to his connections with owner Roman Abrahamovic but was fired from his post.

Grant was also sacked from his positions at Portsmouth and West Ham but he is not free from controversies.

Grant, the ex-Portsmouth manager, was caught visiting a brothel in 2010 while in charge of the English club.

The married father-of-two was wearing a club tracksuit when he emerged from the brothel in Horton Heath, near Portsmouth’s training ground in Eastleigh, Hants, when he admitted he was aware that the premises was a brothel.

Mr Grant refused to make any comment on his visit to the brothel.
