Awal Mohammed injured in Maritzburg win

South African Premier Soccer League side Maritzburg United could be without Ghana center-back Awal Mohammed for weeks after he was forced off during their Nedbank Cup knock-out victory over Platinum Stars on Saturday.

The 25-year-old had to be pulled off in the 45th minute and replaced with Mario Booysen after suffering an injury mid-way through the tie.

Maritzburg United doctors will assess the extent of the damage on the defender on Monday and know whether he could return to training and endure a spell on the sidelines.
