Ghana international Andre Ayew has insisted that leaving Marseille at the end of the season is not on the cards now.
The son of the Ghana legend Abedi Ayew has been linked to various clubs across Europe including Newcastle, Arsenal, Napoli and Liverpool. He has just a year left on his Stade Velodrome contract prompting fears that he could leave the Ligue 1.
“I have a status in this club, I cannot start thinking about next year,” Ayew told beIN Sports.
“What is important for me is to finish the season well. Some say I’m going to go but for my part, I have never spoken of a departure. What is important is to finish well this season. Then there will be discussions with the club.”
Ayew added: “It also depends on who is the next coach. All this is done in a timely manner.”
The player, who is also in line for the club's captaincy role, was promoted to the Marseille senior side in 2007 and has risen to become the side's key player after loan spells at Arles Avignon and Lorient.
